Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM)
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM)
Uromi Justice Development Peace and Caritas Initiatives (Uromi JDPCI) works to prevent and respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM), while promoting the rights, dignity, safety, and well-being of women, girls, and other vulnerable groups across Edo Central Senatorial District.
Our interventions focus on strengthening community awareness and prevention, promoting positive social and behavioural change, supporting survivors and vulnerable persons to access appropriate services, and strengthening referral and protection systems. We engage community leaders, traditional and faith-based institutions, women and youth groups, schools, government agencies, justice-sector actors, and other stakeholders to address harmful social norms and practices that perpetuate violence and discrimination.
Through community mobilisation, advocacy, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, awareness campaigns, and survivor-centred approaches, Uromi JDPCI seeks to create safer and more inclusive communities where women and children can live free from violence, exploitation, abuse, and harmful practices. We also promote stronger community and institutional mechanisms for prevention, protection, accountability, and access to justice.
